US will provide Ukraine with $17 million to restore public health system, - Ministry of Health

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced an additional $17 million in funding for public health recovery in Ukraine.
This was discussed during a working meeting of Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko and Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin with representatives of the CDC in Washington, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to press service of Ministry of Health.
"Of these $17 million, $5.3 million will be used to prevent, detect and respond to contain antimicrobial resistance, $7.7 million to strengthen surveillance systems and laboratory capacities, $2.6 million to strengthen public health emergency management and $1.2 million to improve data modernization systems," Liashko said.
According to him, part of the funds will be used to further support and develop a training course in field epidemiology for Ukrainian specialists, which will positively affect the safety of public health in Ukraine.
