In Ukraine, procedure for DNA selection from volunteers was approved
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for the selection of biological material from members of voluntary formations of territorial communities.
As Censor.NET informs, this was reported by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on Telegram.
The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the government on Monday.
In particular, the procedure for the selection of biological material from members of voluntary formations of territorial communities and its storage has been approved.
Regional and Kyiv city state administrations (military administrations) are also tasked with organizing the selection of biological material from members of voluntary formations of territorial communities within two months from the date of entry into force of the relevant order.
We will remind you that the law regulating the creation of the Electronic Register of Human Genomic Information in Ukraine was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in July 2022.
According to it, state registration of genomic information should be carried out for:
- identification of persons who have committed criminal offenses;
- searching for missing persons;
- identification of unidentified human corpses, their remains and body parts;
- identification of a person who, due to his health or age, is unable to provide information about himself.
