European Investment Bank allocates 840 million euros for recovery of Ukraine

Ukraine will receive 840 million euros for recovery from the European Investment Bank.

This was reported in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Censor.NET informs.

It was noted there that the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, and the President of the European Investment Bank, Werner Heuer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the reconstruction projects of Ukraine. The document was signed on the sidelines of the international conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which began today in London.

Funds from the European Investment Bank will be directed to the restoration of:

  • municipal infrastructure (schools, hospitals, etc.);
  • public buildings taking into account energy efficiency;
  • water supply and drainage infrastructure;
  • transport networks and urban public transport.

In addition, the EIB will finance the development of digital transformation and the strengthening of cyber security.

"Also, the Ministry of Reconstruction and the EIB will work on the implementation and application of a package of technical and consulting assistance for Ukraine in the amount of about 100 million euros," the Ministry of Infrastructure added.

They also reminded that the European Investment Bank is one of the largest creditors of Ukraine. The portfolio of his projects in our country reaches more than 7 billion euros.
