According to Ukrainian legislation, elections cannot be held during martial law.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with the BBC, Censor.NET reports.

To the question of whether elections will be held in Ukraine next year, he answered as follows: "This is a global issue. If we win, there will be. This means that there will be no wartime, there will be no war. And the elections must be held in peacetime, when there is no war, according to the law".

Zelensky added that he really wants peace next year and "life to be as it was before the war."
