EU supports Ukrainian formula for peace - Borrell

The European Union supports the Ukrainian formula for peace and will promote it in every way possible.
This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell at a press conference in Luxembourg following the EU Foreign Affairs Council, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to Ukrinform.
"It is clear that we want peace. We will continue global contacts to find a lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter. This meeting (of ministers) is also an important moment to consolidate the support of our global partners. We reaffirmed our support for the "peace formula" proposed by Ukraine and are looking for the widest possible support for it. It will be a big job for the European External Action Service, as well as for me, to build support for Ukraine around the world, support for a just, fair and lasting peace," Borrell emphasized.
He noted that 24,000 Ukrainian soldiers have already been trained as part of the EU's Assistance Mission for Ukraine. Thus, the ultimate goal of the mission - to train 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers by the end of the year, according to Borrell, "is quite achievable."
"Our support (for Ukraine - ed.) is obvious. We will play our part and contribute to providing Ukraine with long-term security assurances to help protect themselves, to be able to deter potential acts of aggression in the future, and to counter destabilization efforts. We will continue military assistance to accelerate their defense production, through training missions and through technology transfer," Borrell said.
He also said that against the backdrop of the Wagner PMC's rebellion in Russia, the EU should support Ukraine more than ever.
