Corruption in courts demotivates citizens, in particular soldiers, so NSDC proposes to strengthen responsibility, - Zelensky

The Council of National Security and Defense proposes to strengthen the responsibility of judges and employees of the judicial sphere for crimes in the sphere of justice and corruption.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Censor.NET reports.
"People give the most valuable thing - health and life for the sake of the state, and state institutions, in particular judicial and law enforcement, must undergo such a transformation that will protect our society from injustice. The NSDC proposed to strengthen the responsibility of judges and other employees of judicial authorities for crimes in the sphere of justice and corruption. We propose to tighten the rules for checking the integrity of judges, in particular with the use of lie detectors. We should also give a new meaning to the jury trial as one of the elements of people's power in the state," the President said.
He recalled the case of exposing corruption in the Supreme Court and detaining judges while receiving a bribe of 2.7 million dollars.
In his opinion, such cases demotivate citizens, including soldiers in the ranks of the Armed Forces, and discredit the judiciary in Ukraine.
The President also added that relevant legislative initiatives are being prepared, and called on people's deputies to support them.
"Now, when we are going to determine the parameters of our Ukrainian doctrine and the transformation of our state, we should consider our policy of justice on the same level as the policy of Ukrainian victory, the policy of security, and the policy of our heroes. Justice is the kind of social system under which people want to live in Ukraine", he said.
