If the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces is not successful by October, the EU will talk about freezing the war and insist on the start of peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow.

Polish MEP, representative of the Ukraine-EU Association Parliamentary Committee, Witold Jan Waszczykowski, said this, Censor.NET reports with reference to UNIAN.

"I believe you have another 3-4 months while the world watches the progress of your military confrontation. If after 3-4 months the counteroffensive is not successful, Europe will start pushing you to freeze the conflict and start negotiations with Russia, as it was in 2015. This is my pessimistic opinion," he said.

According to Vashchikovsky, there are still countries in the EU that are more interested in cooperation with Russia than with Ukraine.

"Most European countries, such as Germany and France, do not need Ukraine. They need Russia to return to the world economy. They need Russian gas and oil," said the MEP.
