Before full-scale invasion, 371 German firms were operating in Russia, and now there are 262 left. However, they paid more taxes to Russian budget than firms from any other EU country.

It was informed by Censor.NЕТ referring to Bild.

It is noted that in 2022 they paid $402 million in taxes to the Russian budget. This is a record figure among all EU countries. Only US companies paid a larger amount in tax deductions.

And they don't even violate the sanctions, as it is still legal to do business with Russia. Only certain goods and services are banned. These include auditing, IT consulting, imports and purchases of oil, luxury cars, jewelry, and goods for the aerospace industry.

Among the companies that still operate in Russia, such giants as Metro, Bayer, BMW, Hochland, Robert Bosch, Knauf Gips, and others continue to earn money in Russia and pay taxes to the country's budget. Some of the remaining German companies have taken advantage of the withdrawal of competitors and increased their turnover.
