The so-called "hot" collision line now exceeds 1,200 km. We are talking about the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions, where active hostilities are ongoing.

Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, deputy chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Ukrinform, Censor.NET reports.

He noted that during the offensive operation by the Defense Forces, the operational situation did not undergo drastic changes and is characterized by the efforts of Russian troops to reach the administrative border of the Donetsk region, as well as to hold the territories in the Donetsk and Tavria operational areas.

Gromov clarified that within the scope of the offensive operation in the Donetsk and Tavriysk operational areas, the most active directions are Melitopol and Berdiansk, where Ukrainian units advanced up to 7.5 km deep into the enemy's defenses. In this context, the brigadier general informed that since the start of the offensive operation by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 9 settlements have been liberated. The military returned almost 160 square kilometers of Ukrainian land under control.

"As for the length of the so-called hotline of contact, it now exceeds 1,200 km. But here we are talking about the direct line of contact with the enemy in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions, where active hostilities continue," Hromov added.

He emphasized that one should not forget about the northern borders with Belarus and the Russian Federation, from where constant rocket and artillery fire is carried out, the activity of the enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance forces is observed, the threat of a military invasion remains, as well as about the section of the sea coast in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, where, despite the reduction of the enemy's naval potential, its amphibious capabilities cannot be completely rejected.
"A plus is the border with Transnistria, where Russia maintains a limited grouping of troops. Therefore, in general, such a line can be about 3,800 km," summed up the deputy chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
