Ukraine will be able to join NATO without a Membership Action Plan, under a simplified procedure, when "conditions allow."
This was stated by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, Censor.NET reports with reference to Dzerkalo Tzhynia.
"I can say that the Membership Action Plan will be withdrawn, this is a very positive step forward. This will simplify Ukraine's path to NATO. We must go beyond the language of the Bucharest Summit, which only speaks of "open doors". Ukraine today needs very specific signals about the fact that when the conditions allow, it will become a member of NATO not only on paper but in reality," he said.
It will be reminded, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the final decision on the cancellation of the MAP has not yet been made, consultations are ongoing.
