Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive in Melitopol and Berdiansk directions and are entrenched at achieved boundaries, - General Staff
The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka directions, and heavy fighting continues. There were 29 combat engagements over the last day.
This is stated in the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. Over the past day, it carried out air strikes near Volfyne in the Sumy region and Vetaryne in the Kharkiv region. It also fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 localities. These included Karpovychi and Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region; Sopych and Romashkove in the Sumy region; and Strilecha, Vetaryne, Stoiivka and Sotnytsky Kozachok in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, our soldiers are holding steadfastly the defence. The enemy launched an air strike near Podoly, Kucherivka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region. Krasne Pershe, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Vesele, Donetsk region, over the past day. The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka and Nevskoye in the Luhansk region. Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Razdolivka, Torske, Verkhnekamianske and Vesele in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, under heavy fire from aviation and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks near Hryhorivka and east of Orikhovo-Vasylivka. More than 15 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Oleksandro-Shultyne, Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Pivdenne, and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske. The enemy launched air strikes near New York and the city of Avdiivka. At the same time, the occupants shelled more than 10 localities, including Avdiivka, Berdychi, Severne and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka sector, under enemy artillery fire, our defenders repelled all attacks in the areas of Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Mariinka. The enemy fired at more than 15 localities, including Kostiantynivka, Mariinka, Pobeda, and Yelizavetivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Blahodatne. It carried out air strikes near Odradne, Storozhove, Rivne, and Makarivka. The enemy fired at more than 15 localities, including Vuhledar, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Prechystivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of our troops. The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region and Zolota Balka, Molodizhne in the Kherson region. It shelled more than 30 localities, including Huliaypole, Huliaypilske, Zaliznychne, Poltavka, Olhivske in the Zaporizhzhia region; Kozatske, Lvove, Inzhenerne, Tokarivka in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson, as well as Dniprovske, Dmytrivka and Ivanivka in the Mykolaiv region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
