Sunken "Olenegorskiy Gornyak" in Novorossiysk was placed against wall and supported by auxiliary vessel. PHOTOS

Satellite images of the moored ship were published by military analyst Joseph Dempsey, Censor.NET reports citing LigaBusinessInform.

Dempsey noted that the Russian Battleship Olenegorskiy Gornyak (classified as a Ropucha, Polish for "frog"), which was damaged in the aquadron attack on the night of 4 August, was docked in Novorossiysk and that its port side was propped up by the same support vessel that was caught on video towing the downed Battleship.

As you know, there is no dry dock in Novorossiysk to repair ships of this size. The nearest dry dock suitable for such repairs is located in the temporarily occupied Kerch.

It should be noted that Olenegorskiy Gornyak is a large amphibious assault ship of the Russian Federation, commissioned in 1976. It belongs to the Russian Northern Fleet. The crew consists of 98 people, including 17 officers. The ship can carry up to 500 tonnes of equipment and cargo and 225 paratroopers. The ship is armed with two twin 57 mm AK-725 artillery pieces, two Grad-M MLRS launchers and four Strela-2 surface-to-air missile launchers.

To recap, explosions were heard in Novorossiysk at night. The Russian Ministry of Defence said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly tried to attack the naval base. Later, it became known that surface drones had hit the Russian landing ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak in the bay of Novorossiysk. It was also noted that this was a joint operation of the SSU and the Navy. A week earlier, on 29 July, CNN aired a story about Ukrainian aquadrones.
