State Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority wants more critical position of IAEA regarding actions of Russian Federation on territory of ZNPP

The State Nuclear Regulatory Commission stated that they would like an IAEA assessment of the illegal actions of the Russian Federation and the territory of the ZNPP, which are harmful to safety and would like a more critical position of the IAEA.

As Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine, this was stated during the telethon by the head of the State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine, chief state inspector for nuclear and radiation safety Oleh Korikov.

As Korikov noted, the terrorist country openly turned the station into a military base and deliberately violates the requirements of the Ukrainian regulator.

"This is all happening under the eyes of the IAEA, which is constantly at the station. We would like the IAEA to assess these illegal actions that harm security, and we would like a more critical position of the IAEA at least," Korikov added.

The head of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission recalled how the security system at power unit No. 4 had recently been breached at the station.

"The integrity of one of the barriers to the spread of radiation into the environment has been violated. The first circuit is water that washes the nuclear fuel. It appeared in the second circuit, which should go to the production of electricity in the turbogenerator," Korikov explained.

As a result of depressurization, the power unit had to be stopped, in particular, the occupiers put the power unit No. 6 into a "hot stop" state. The latter, for its part, does not produce electricity but takes it from the energy system of Ukraine. During the operation of the pumps, steam is produced, which is then used for the ZNPP's own needs.
