Turkey does not expect anything more from European Union, - Erdogan

Turkey will no longer accept the conditions and requirements for accession to the European Union from Brussels

This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a speech in the country's parliament, Censor.NET reports with reference to DW.

"We have fulfilled all the promises made to the EU, but they have not fulfilled almost any of theirs. Ankara will not accept any new requirements or conditions in the accession process," Erdogan said.

He added that despite the change of leadership, the European Union's unfair and biased attitude towards Turkey, which is incompatible with the principle of loyalty, has not changed. Erdogan said that if the EU abandons the visa regime, which he said is used by the bloc as a veiled sanction against Ankara, it will "correct its own mistakes".

"Turkey expects nothing more from the European Union, which has been making us wait at its gates for 40 years," he added.
