"Gas oligarchs" want lower extraction rent, - Chornovol
As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the People's Front MP Tetiana Chornovol at a press conference on Tuesday.
"I'm for reduction of the rent for private companies that extract natural gas. Now it is rather high - from raw natural gas feedstock lying at a depth of up to 5000 meters - 55%, more than 5000 meters - 28%... Private companies, in contrast to joint venture companies, engage in exploration, invest in their development and well drilling. These companies should have funds and opportunities for development. It is also in the interests of state to increase gas production," she said.
According to the deputy, the situation with joint venture companies is otherwise. No reduction should be introduced for them, since they are using already developed state wells and often evade paying taxes.
People lobbying in favour of such companies are the oligarchs Oleksandr Onishchenko, Yaroslav Moskalenko and other members of the Volia Narodu MP group, as well as the Batkivshchyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko.
