Intensity of hostilities in Lyman-Kupiansk direction decreased due to weather, - Defense Forces
Over the past day, 11 combat engagements took place in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction. The intensity of hostilities decreased due to heavy rainfall.
This was stated on the air of the telethon by the head of the press service of the Eastern Group of Forces Illia Yevlash, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"Due to the heavy precipitation that has been falling in recent days in the area of responsibility of the Eastern Group of Forces, the intensity of combat engagements in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction has decreased. Of course, we can't say that they are completely absent. Thus, over the past day, there were 11 engagements," he said.
At the same time, Yevlash informed that the enemy's losses amounted to 150 people killed and wounded, and four more people were captured. In total, the Russian invaders fired 465 times at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the last day. The spokesman noted that the enemy troops are mostly using artillery, avoiding direct clashes.
According to him, in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction, there is currently a decrease in the intensity of shelling and the use of aircraft.
"For example, regarding aviation. Earlier we talked about a dozen and a half strikes and Su-35, Su-25, but over the past day there was not a single combat strike by the enemy," noted Yevlash.
Yevlash also noted that the intensity of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by Russian troops has decreased.
"The enemy is now focusing its attention near Synkivka, Ivanivka and Makiivka.He is trying to move his assault units there - Storm-Z, Storm, various rifle battalions and tank units. However, they have no success. Our defenders are holding the border and repelling enemy attacks," he added.
