Combat actions intensified in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction after a brief lull due to weather conditions.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Iliia Yevlash, during a telethon, Censor.NET reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

He reminded that it has been the rainy season recently. Heavy rainfall continued for several days, and this, according to the spokesman, had a significant impact on the number of combat clashes with the enemy. This includes the use of aviation and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), as it is quite difficult to control these vehicles due to severe weather conditions.

"There, the use of heavy equipment in the fields, where the land viscosity is very high, is much more complicated. However, the weather has now stabilized. Hostilities intensified. Combat clashes also intensified in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction after a brief lull. However, we are holding back the enemy's onslaught and preventing them from breaking through," said Yevlash.

In particular, according to him, for the past day, Ukrainian soldiers managed to eliminate significantly more enemy forces in this area and are now showing a decline.

"That is, they are now regrouping, analyzing their actions, but they will not succeed in the future," Yevlash added.

According to him, over the past 24 hours in the Bakhmut and Lymansko-Kupiansk sectors, the Defense Forces destroyed over 380 occupants and a lot of Russian equipment.
