Armenian President Khachaturyan officially approves ratification of Rome Statute

On 13 October, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a law on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which had been previously passed by the parliament.
This was reported by the official website of the President of Armenia, Censor.NET reports.
"On 13 October, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a statement on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, signed on 17 July 1998, and on the adoption of the statement "On the retroactive recognition of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court by the Republic of Armenia" on the basis of Article 12, paragraph 3 of the Statute," the statement reads.
As Censor.NET previously reported, on 3 October, the Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. 58 deputies from the ruling Civic Contract faction voted for the ratification. 25 MPs from the opposition factions "Armenia" and "Honour I Have" abstained from voting. There were no votes against.
