EU should maintain support for Ukraine - Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on European partners to stick to the line of support for Ukraine.
He said this in a speech in the Bundestag a week before the EU summit, where leaders of the 27-member bloc will discuss support for Ukraine. As Censor.NET reports this with reference to Bloomberg.
"We will not give up," Scholz promised.
The chancellor added that Berlin would focus its military assistance on strengthening Ukraine's air defence in the winter.
On 17 October, the European Parliament supported the creation of the Ukraine Fund in the first reading. MEPs voted to allocate €50 billion for the restoration, reconstruction and modernisation of Ukraine in 2024-2027.
To receive this funding, Ukraine must submit a recovery plan that includes investment and reforms, including transformations related to Ukraine's integration into the EU.
