Oleksandr Kovalenko died in battles for Ukraine in Donetsk direction
On October 15, 2023, Oleksandr Oleksiiovych Kovalenko died during a combat mission under enemy artillery fire in the Donetsk direction.
As Censor.NET informs, the Fastiv Municipal Council reported this in a telegram.
Oleksandr Kovalenko was born on July 28, 1982 in Fastiv city. In 1999 he graduated from municipal school No. 9. After graduating from the railway college, he worked as a driver of a motive power depot in Fastiv.
In February 2014, he was awarded the state award "Honored Railwayman" for preventing a railway disaster during the work of the SRG (sabotage and reconnaissance group) on railway tracks, which took place during the Revolution of Dignity.
Oleksandr actively worked on the development of social gardening programs.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr joined the 208th separate battalion of the Territorial Defense and later joined the rifle company of the military unit.
During this time, he was twice awarded the medal "To the Indomitable Heroes of Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian War" and the medal "For the Defense of the Native State".
The Hero has a daughter, mother and sister.
