Latvia hands over 61 ambulances to Ukraine

The Latvian Emergency Medical Service (NMPD), with the support of the government, handed over 61 ambulances to Ukraine, which were already in use.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.
The vehicles will be handed over to the government bodies of Ukraine - the police, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health.
This year, NMPD has purchased new medical vehicles at the expense of the European Union — 110 ambulances have already been purchased, and another 47 will be transferred in the coming months. "The NMPD has assessed the resources at its management and the necessary reserves and has concluded that some of the used vehicles will no longer be needed and can therefore be donated," the service explained.
At the same time, the self-government of the South Kurzeme territory of Latvia submitted an application for the transfer of six ambulances to its long-time partner, the Ukrainian city of Kamin-Kashyrskyi of Volyn region. Thus, the total number of donated cars will reach 67.
