Canadian government has requested $385 million in aid for Ukraine

канада

The Government of Canada has asked Parliament for CAD 500 million (about 385 million USD) for military aid to Ukraine.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

"We ask the parliament to approve the allocation of 500 million СAD for the Ministry of Defense to provide military aid to Ukraine," reads the budget document submitted by the Government of Canada to the House of Commons.

It is noted that these funds will be used to "provide equipment and services to Ukraine, which is defending its sovereignty, including firearms, drone cameras, pilot training and tank maintenance."

The document also includes about 38.5 million USD for the Canadian military training mission UNIFIER and more than 67 million USD for the migration program "Canadian-Ukrainian Emergency Travel". The program announced in March 2022 allows Ukrainians fleeing Russian aggression to live and work in Canada for three years. Although new applications for this program are no longer being accepted, previously approved applicants have until the end of March next year to come to Canada to apply for work permits, financial and other government assistance, which will be provided until March 2025.
