At a meeting of diplomats of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Russia blocked the election of Malta as the state that will chair the Organization in 2024.

This was announced by Radio Liberty's Brussels correspondent Rikard Jozwiak on Twitter, Censor.NET reports.

According to Jozwiak, the Russian Federation on Thursday blocked the appointment of Malta as the presiding state in the OSCE, as well as four top officials of the organization, including the Secretary General.

"They (the Russians - Ed.) want Lavrov to be received next week in North Macedonia at an OSCE ministerial meeting to make a final decision," he added.
