US intelligence was unaware of Hamas preparations to attack Israel, Kirby
This was stated by the coordinator of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, according to NBC News, Censor.NET reports.
"National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said on Sunday on NBC News that the US intelligence community indicated that they were not aware of Hamas's plans to attack Israel," the report said.
Earlier, the New York Times, citing documents, emails and interviews, reported that Israeli officials had received Hamas's plans for the 7 October attack more than a year before it happened.
The document was reportedly circulated among Israeli military and intelligence officials, but experts dismissed the plan as too complex for Hamas to execute.
"There is no indication at this point that they had access to this document in advance," Kirby concluded.
