Russians are trying to find new ways to assault industrial zone of Avdiivka, they advanced in several places - ISW

The occupants advanced west of the railway and north of Stepove. It is 3 km northwest of Avdiivka.

This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Censor.NET reports.

Additional geo-location footage released on 2 December shows that Russian troops have advanced southwest of Pervomaiske (10km southwest of Avdiivka).

Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces had advanced south and southeast of Stepove, with some claiming that Russian troops had advanced 300 meters near the settlement.

They also claimed that Russian troops had advanced south of Novokalynove (13 km north-east of Avdiivka) and west of Krasnohorivka (5 km north-west of Avdiivka) on the northern flank of Avdiivka, as well as on the southern flank in the area of Pervomaiske and Severne (6 km west of Avdiivka).

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked the east of Novobakhmutivka (9 km northwest of Avdiivka) and Novokalynove; south of Tonenke (5 km west of Avdiivka); near Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomaiske.

On 3 December, the head of the Avdiivka military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, said that during the third wave of the assault on Avdiivka, Russian forces opened two additional directions of attack on the industrial area - southeast of Avdiivka and from Spartak (4 km south of Avdiivka) - to distract Ukrainian forces. Barabash also said that Russian forces are waiting for weather conditions to improve so that they can use heavy equipment again in their assaults.
