Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that EU leader and Ukraine’s fifth president Petro Poroshenko had initiated a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

He said this on Monday at a hearing in the Hungarian parliament, Censor.NET reports citing Telex.

According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, Orban is happy to negotiate with anyone, including former foreign leaders, and that Hungary "does not want to be an obstacle to such meetings".

Szijjártó noted that the meeting was to take place at the initiative of Petro Poroshenko.

At the same time, he did not discuss the topics of the meeting that did not take place.

"Let's not go into such science fiction," Sijjarto added.

As reported, on 1 December, it became known that EU leader Petro Poroshenko was not allowed to cross the border despite the document on his business trip signed by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. The State Border Guard Service said that the business trip document had been cancelled. Lawyers are preparing a lawsuit.

"Servant of the People Kornienko explained that Poroshenko was not allowed to leave because he received a letter marked "For official use only".

The International Democratic Union (IDU) called on the Ukrainian authorities to allow the fifth president, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, to travel to participate in the IDU Forum in Washington.

Later, the SSU said that Poroshenko was not allowed to travel abroad so that he "would not become a tool in the hands of Russian special services".
