"Batkivshchyna" ("Fatherland" -ed.) will block signing of law on medical cannabis

A group of Batkivshchyna people’s deputies led by Yuliia Tymoshenko introduced a draft resolution to abolish the law on regulating the circulation of medical cannabis.
The initiators of the project are People`s Deputies from Batkivshchyna: Yuliia Tymoshenko, Serhii Taruta, Oleksii Kucherenko, Serhii Yevtushok, Hryhorii Nemyria, and Valerii Dubil, Censor.NET reports with reference to hromadske.
In her speech to people's deputies, Yuliia Tymoshenko once again criticized the law, calling it a law on "drug plantations" and a "decision against the future of Ukraine." The deputy also suggested that the adoption of the law would lead to increased drug trafficking through Ukraine.
"At the very least, our team has seen a lot of heroes in this room. They come in, flash, make some b*llshit decisions, and then disappear. I want to tell you that the same fate may await you. Therefore, when you leave, I hope that the next convocation of the parliament will be absolutely adequate, pro-Ukrainian and will cancel everything you have adopted here, which is destroying the country and its foundations," Tymoshenko told deputies before voting for the law on December 21.
People`s Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak notes that the parliament will be able to unblock the signing of the law only "somewhere in mid-January" of 2024.
As a reminder, on December 21, the Verkhovna Rada passed Draft Law No. 7457 on the legalization of medical cannabis in the second reading.
