We call for economical consumption of electricity – Ukrenergo
Amid the beginning of the working week, the resumption of business activity after the holidays and the cold snap, Ukraine has seen an increase in electricity consumption. Ukrenergo called for savings.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Ukrenergo.
"Today, the morning maximum consumption at 10:40 a.m. was 8% higher than the corresponding figure yesterday, January 2," the statement said.
Experts explained that such a rapid increase in consumption puts a significant additional burden on power plants that are still recovering from massive missile attacks last winter, which could lead to technological disruptions.
To help the system operate in difficult conditions, the power company urged people to follow the rules of rational use of electrical appliances during the day:
- turn off "extra" lights in the premises;
- do not turn on several powerful appliances at home at once (for example, a boiler, washing machine and iron). At work, during lunchtime, do not turn on the kettle and microwave together;
- turn off air conditioners and heaters if the room temperature is comfortable;
- unplug chargers from the sockets if you have charged your gadgets.
