Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mariana Bezuhla said she had written a letter of resignation from the "Servant of the People" faction and party.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Bezuhlaya's Facebook page.

"I do not need a weak faction and party in a war. I will continue to support the President's initiatives, but I don't want to have any common obligations with the faction's MPs who stab me in the back," the statement said.

She also said that the chairman of the National Security and Defence Committee, Oleksandr Zavitnevych ("Servant of the People"), had "betrayed" her.

In her post, Bezuhla also accuses her fellow members of the Verkhovna Rada Defence Committee, as well as the Ukrainian generals, of being unwilling to fight corruption and resisting change, without which, she claims, "the Armed Forces will turn into a conveyor belt for recycling citizens to maintain the status quo at the front."

As a reminder, a resolution to recall MP Mariana Bezuhla from her position as Deputy Chair of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence was recently introduced in the Verkhovna Rada.

The resolution was registered in parliament on Saturday, 6 January. At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on 10 January, they failed to consider the dismissal of Mariana Bezuhla from the post of deputy head of the Committee on National Security and Defence.
