European Solidarity People’s Deputy Oleksii Honcharenko initiated the collection of signatures for the resignation of Ruslan Stefanchuk from the post of Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
He said this in his telegram channel, Censor.NET reports.
"I have initiated the collection of signatures for the resignation of Ruslan Stefanchuk from the post of Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. What is happening now in the Rada is a disgrace!" the statement reads.
Honcharenko points out that there is chaos in the Rada around the draft law on mobilization.
"Article 94 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada:
1. The Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine or, in accordance with the distribution of responsibilities, the First Deputy, Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, if there are grounds provided for in this Article, upon the proposal of the main committee or temporary special commission or the Conciliation Board, returns the submitted draft law or other act to the subject of the right of legislative initiative without including it on the agenda of the session and consideration at the plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.
That is, the Conciliation Board has the right to return the draft law to the Cabinet of Ministers. But formally, it didn't. Theoretically, they could have said during a closed session that that was it, the Conciliation Board had begun. But it still looks very strange! And we need to follow the rules of procedure," emphasizes Honcharenko.
