Zaluzhnyi was not present at first meeting of NATO-Ukraine Council

The first meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council in the military format at the level of defense chiefs took place on the evening of January 17.
This is reported by the Facebook account of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Censor.NET reports.
The military representative of Ukraine, Major General Serhii Salkutsan, addressed the allies on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
"He spoke about the current situation on the battlefield, emphasized the priority needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and called for an increase in the supply of weapons, including air defense systems and missiles," the statement said.
However, the day before, Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the NATO Military Committee, said that Zaluzhnyi would participate in the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting in a remote format.
