DPRK tests new strategic cruise missile

The DPRK reported that it had tested a new type of strategic cruise missile, the Pulhwasal-3-31, which is under development.
This became known from the North Korean state news agency KCNA, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
Pyongyang said that the test did not affect the security of neighboring countries and has nothing to do with the regional situation.
The Missile Defense Directorate explained that the test firing is a process of constant updating of the weapons system and a regular and mandatory activity of the directorate and its affiliated defense research institutes.
South Korea confirms the test, RBC-Ukraine reports. The military there said that the DPRK had fired several cruise missiles in the direction of the Yellow Sea, but did not provide any further details, including the distance they flew.
This was the first known cruise missile launch by North Korea since last September, when the country launched two long-range cruise missiles with mock nuclear warheads toward the Yellow Sea. At the time, Pyongyang said the missiles flew about 1,500 kilometers.
