At a time when Ukraine is fighting for its existence, the combat capability of the army and the unity of society are crucial. However, today politics can outweigh common sense and the interests of the state.

This was stated by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko, commenting on the information about the possible dismissal of the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Censor.NET reports.

"The society is discussing and waiting for the outcome of the situation with the President's plans to dismiss the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi. I hope that the government realizes the seriousness of the steps it is taking now and the full extent of its responsibility. Because today, when Ukraine is literally fighting for its very existence, the most important thing is the combat capability and cohesion of the army and the unity of society. Are the hinted-at reshuffles aimed at this? Society is not sure. And this should be taken into account. And finally, we must stop political intrigues and internal struggle," said Vitalii Klytschko.

He noted that it was largely thanks to Zaluzhnyi that Ukrainians truly believed in our Armed Forces, which have the greatest trust today.

"As a military man in the war, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi went through many difficult moments. Only he knows how many... Unfortunately, today is the moment when politics can outweigh common sense and the interests of the state. And this moment does not depend on Zaluzhnyi," Klytschko said.

The mayor of Kyiv emphasized that political intrigues and internal struggles must be stopped.

"Today we need to fight for one thing - for the Victory of Ukraine," Vitalii Klytschko emphasized.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Rai 1 TV channel that Ukraine needs to reboot the government, including in the military sector.
