Moldovan Defense Ministry denies information about permission for "transit of F-16s for Ukraine"

The Ministry of Defense of Moldova denied the information circulating on social media about the alleged permission to transit F-16 fighter jets to be delivered to Ukraine through the country.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by NewsMaker.
The ministry was asked to comment on the information that Moldovan President Maia Sandu allegedly agreed with Volodymyr Zelenskyy to allow F-16 fighters to fly through Moldovan airspace.
"In recent days, provocative disinformation has appeared on the web, especially in Telegram channels, aimed at the defense ministry (of Moldova - ed.). According to some reports, the Ministry of Defense has allegedly allowed the deployment of Ukrainian F-16 aircraft at the airfield in Markulesti or that Moldova is preparing Ukrainian soldiers for an invasion of the Transnistrian region. We categorically refute these false reports aimed at stirring up fear in society. We ask citizens to be vigilant and receive information only from official sources," the country's Defense Ministry said.
Earlier, Moldovan Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi denied that the F-16 fighter jets that the West will send to Ukraine will stay at the Markulesht airport for some time. Nosatîi said on January 24, answering journalists' questions, that this false information is being spread by "politicians who want to destabilize the situation in the country."
