Russian Federation increases intensity of shelling in Avdiivka sector and deploys new reserves - Tarnavskyi
Russian invaders have some local successes in the Avdiivka sector. Ukrainian soldiers continue to conduct defensive operations.
This was reported by the commander of OSGT "Tavria", Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Censor.NET reports.
"In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy is increasing the intensity of artillery shelling, has a significant advantage in ammunition, is increasing the number of assault groups - up to a battalion tactical group, and is sending new reserves into the battle, thus having some local successes. At the same time, the operational situation is dynamic. The defence forces continue to conduct defensive operations, sometimes regaining lost positions, setting up additional positions of units, firing positions, and observation posts," the statement said.
Thus, over the last day, Ukrainian troops repelled 25 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka sector, 30 attacks in the Novopavlivka sector and 1 attack in the Orikhivsk sector.
"In total, the Russians carried out 36 air strikes in OSGT "Tavria" yesterday, engaging in 56 combat clashes, 1074 attacks and 118 kamikaze drone strikes.
The enemy's total losses in manpower, killed and wounded, amounted to 319 people, and in weapons and military equipment - 5 tanks, 13 armoured combat vehicles, 2 artillery systems, 11 vehicles, 2 air defence systems, and 3 units of special equipment. A total of 278,278 UAVs of various types were neutralised or destroyed. Among other things, an enemy dugout was destroyed," added Tarnavskyi.
