Yatseniuk rows State Forest Agency for uncontrolled deforestation

At a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Ecological Safety and Emergencies, the Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk asked to bring order to the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine.

In particular, the prime minister stressed the lack of control over deforestation both in the past and present, Censor.NET reports citing the Cabinet's press service.

It's about dozens of millions of dollars. "The forest is being cut, logs are being exported. By the way, we talked to the Kherson region. There are full-loaded trucks ready to go to Crimea," the head of government said.

The prime minister stated he would meet the leadership of the State Forest Resources Agency next week to talk its reformation.

He instructed the authority's leaders to put their work to order including control over the administrative border between the Kherson region and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

"Figure out who sends logs to Crimea. Who cuts the forest, who gives out permissions. And who is into the business out there," the prime minister ordered.
