State Department on attacks on Russian oil refineries: we do not encourage or support Ukraine’s strikes outside its territory

The US State Department commented on the Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, noting that the Americans do not encourage them.
This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Our position since the beginning of this war has always been that we do not encourage or support strikes by Ukraine outside its territory," he stressed.
When asked whether the US side had contacted Ukraine after another strike on another Russian refinery in Samara the day before, Miller did not answer, refusing to comment on any diplomatic interaction.
Instead, he noted that the position he voiced reflected a "long-standing policy" of the US side, and this was clearly communicated to Ukrainian partners.
