суд,феміда

The SSU collected evidence and submitted to court materials on five more traitors who fought against the Defence Forces in eastern Ukraine. In February 2024, they were captured by Ukrainian defenders during fierce fighting in the areas of Avdiivka, Mariinka and Bakhmut.

This was reported by the SSU press service, Censor.NET reports.

"At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, they lived in the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. From there, they voluntarily 'mobilised' to the occupation groups of the Southern Military District of the aggressor country.

In the ranks of Russian troops, the suspects stormed Ukrainian cities on the eastern front and built fortifications, including the so-called "dragon's teeth," the statement said.

Who was detained by the SSU

It is noted that in February this year, the perpetrators were captured by Ukrainian defenders during fierce fighting in the areas of Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Bakhmut.

Among those detained by the SSU military counterintelligence is a sniper of an enemy unit who fired at the positions of the Defence Forces in Sievierodonetsk in June 2022 and later fought in the Donetsk region.

Another militant - at first he was an evacuation medic of the occupiers' medical platoon, but soon took "courses" in the tactics of warfare in urban areas. After that, the traitor was appointed commander of an assault unit and transferred to the village of Bilohorivka in the Kramatorsk direction.

The other three detainees took part in the "meaty" assaults on Avdiivka and Mariinka, as well as the capture of Rubizhne in the Luhansk region.

Suspicions of traitors

SSU investigators have served the suspects notices of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • p. 1, 2 Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
  • p. 7 Art. 111-1 (collaboration).

The offenders face life imprisonment.
