More than 50 military standards implemented in Ukraine since beginning of year - Defense Ministry

In the first quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the state’s security and defense sector adopted 54 military standards (37 in March). Almost a dozen of them are NATO standards.
According to Censor.NET, citing the website of the Ministry of Defense, this was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
"In particular, we are talking about military standards for the operation of weapons and military equipment, the safety of ammunition and explosives storage, troop management, the use of communication and information systems, as well as standards for the quality of goods, engineering, aviation and medical support, and others. The introduction of these standards, based on the relevant NATO fundamental standards, increases the effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," Havryliuk explained.
It is also noted that out of 54 military standards adopted since the beginning of 2024, 8 are standards provided for by the NATO-Ukraine Partnership Goals. In particular, these include tactical land operations; chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense; transportation support; medical support; use of communication and information systems, and others.
Havryliuk also said that this year the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine developed and adopted two national standards for the life cycle management system for weapons and military equipment.
"Ukraine clearly adheres to its commitments even in the context of a large-scale war. The implementation of NATO standards is envisaged in the government's priority action plan for 2024. I would like to remind you that as part of the package of NATO-Ukraine Partnership Goals, our country was asked to implement 219 NATO standards by 2025. In total, as of January 2024, the Alliance had 1135 standards in place. Currently, Ukraine has already implemented 190 of the recommended 219 NATO standards (we have implemented another 128 standards on a voluntary basis). By the end of 2024, we plan to adopt about 40 more NATO standards in the security and defense sector," Havryliuk said.
