The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to reshuffle their personnel. Today, two more commanders were dismissed: Major General Andrii Kovalchuk and Major General Serhii Litvinov.

This was reported by Korrespondent.net with reference to anonymous sources, Censor.NET informs.

"We are talking about Major General Andrii Kovalchuk, who was the commander of the Southern Military District, and Major General Serhii Litvinov, who was the commander of the Western Military District," the sources from the Armed Forces said.

So far, details about the reasons for the dismissal and the generals' successors have not been disclosed.

Major General Andrii Kovalchuk became the head of the Southern Operational Command in 2021. He is known for the successful operation of the Armed Forces to liberate the right-bank part of Kherson region and Kherson. Prior to that, he was the First Deputy Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2016-2021). And at the outbreak of the war in 2014, he was the Chief of Staff of the 80th Separate Airmobile Brigade.

Major General Serhii Litvinov has been the commander of the Western Operational Command since August 2021. Previously, he was the deputy commander of a tank brigade and deputy commander of the Northern Command for combat training.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the resignation of former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and the replacement of some generals during the war was a "normal situation".
