This is not consideration, - Sullivan denied possibility of returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine

The United States is providing Ukraine with various means to counter Russian aggression, but the issue of providing nuclear weapons, which it voluntarily gave up in the early 1990s, is not being considered.
This was stated by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in an interview with ABC News, Censor.NET reports.
Sullivan was asked to comment on The New York Times publication, according to which some officials of the Biden administration allowed the possibility of "returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine that were taken out of the country after the collapse of the Soviet Union."
"This is not being considered. No, we are providing Ukraine with various conventional capabilities so that it can effectively defend itself and repel the Russians, not nuclear capabilities," the Biden administration official said.
He noted that over the next 50 days, the current US administration will do everything in its power to provide Ukraine with "all the tools possible to strengthen its position on the battlefield so that it is stronger at the negotiating table."
"And President Biden has instructed me to oversee a significant increase in the military equipment we're delivering to Ukraine, to ensure that we spend every dollar that Congress has given us by the time President Biden leaves office," the American official said.
Earlier, The New York Times wrote that Western officials are considering the possibility of creating conventional weapons stockpiles in Ukraine as a security guarantee . This will allow them to strike at Russia if it violates the ceasefire. According to the publication, some officials do not even rule out that current US President Joe Biden may return nuclear weapons to Ukraine, which were seized after the collapse of the USSR, which will be a deterrent.
