Lubinets on return of prisoners: There is communication, I hope there will be positive news by New Year

Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that he hopes for positive news about the return of prisoners by the New Year, but stressed that one cannot be 100% sure when it comes to agreements with Russia.
According to Censor.NET, citing ZN.UA, Lubinets said this on television.
"Regarding the issue of the return of prisoners of war, the main mediator is the United Arab Emirates. There is communication, I really hope that we will have positive news before the New Year," Lubinets said.
However, the ombudsman warned against taking this information as an announcement.
"I really don't want Ukrainian society to take this information as an announcement. You can never be 100% sure when you expect some kind of agreement from Russia," he emphasized.
The Ombudsman also noted that Russia continues to fail to provide information about abducted Ukrainian children.
"If we return one child every day, it will take us more than 55 years to return the Ukrainian children who have been verified as of today. Meanwhile, the Russians continue to deport, take away, and forcibly move them," he added.
