US makes historic attempt to transfer more weapons to Ukraine - CNN

The Biden administration is working to increase arms shipments to Ukraine in its final days in office to strengthen Kyiv's position in 2025.
According to Censor.NET, citing CNN, this was stated by a senior official of the US presidential administration.
"The Department of Defence is making a historic attempt to move massive amounts of weapons to Ukraine over the next five weeks. Between now and mid-January, we will supply Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles, hundreds of armored vehicles, and other critical equipment," the newspaper writes.
It is noted that coordination on the delivery of weapons is headed by Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan.
"But still, the biggest challenge facing Ukraine is not weapons stockpiles, a senior administration official said, but manpower. A source with knowledge of the matter said that the Biden administration's emphasis on Kyiv's need to address the manpower problem is part of a larger effort to ensure that Ukraine is in the best possible position for 2025," CNN writes.
The unnamed official said that Ukraine is not currently mobilizing and training enough soldiers to man its frontline units.
"The United States is ready to help train the newly mobilized soldiers: if Ukraine mobilizes additional soldiers and sends them to training sites outside of Ukraine, we will train them. But first, Ukraine has to make a decision to mobilize more soldiers," he added.
The day before, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a new $500 million in military aid to Kyiv.
