Verkhovna Rada adopts law on creation of unified state register of military personnel

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted draft law No. 12066, which provides for the creation of a Unified State Register of Military Personnel.
This was announced in a telegram by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak, Censor.NET reports.
The law was supported by 254 deputies.
The new registry will be a centralized information and communication system designed to collect, store, record, process and protect military data. The system will ensure the uniqueness of records through the automatic assignment of an electronic identifier (Military ID).
The database will include the following information about the military:
- NAME
- gender, date of birth;
- digital image of the face;
- taxpayer registration number;
- marital status and information about family members;
- issued military registration documents.
In addition, the registry is integrated with the electronic healthcare system to exchange information on the results of medical examinations.
The data storage period in the registry is set at 75 years after the death of a serviceman.
The law also provides for the introduction of Military ID, which will allow data exchange without using personal information of the military.
