Ukraine must have a strong position for any diplomatic negotiations.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Le Parisien, Censor.NET reports.
The President noted that it does not matter with whom the negotiations are conducted, but what state the country is in: "The question is not who you are talking to - the question is what state you are in. You are in a strong position in the negotiations, or you are in an uncertain position, or you are in a weak position," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine does not yet have sufficient support from its partners to take a strong position in the negotiations. "We do not believe that we are in a weak position for negotiations, but we also do not believe that we are in a strong position," he added.
The President also emphasized the need for diplomacy to allow Ukraine to achieve a just end to the war. He drew attention to Russia's threats to use nuclear weapons and the importance of international support in this difficult period.
