Only Ukraine will decide when to sit down at negotiating table with Russia, - British Defense Secretary Healey

It is Ukraine, which is fighting Russian aggression, that should decide when to start peace talks.
British Defense Secretary John Healey said this in a blitz interview with Ukrinform in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports.
He was asked whether, in his opinion, the new US administration under Donald Trump is capable of ending the war in Ukraine.
It is the Ukrainians who are fighting now, and it is up to the Ukrainians to decide when to start negotiations," Healy replied.
He emphasized that it is Britain's duty to support Ukraine in its struggle and expressed confidence that this will continue to be the case.
Healey assured that Britain will stand with Ukraine "while you fight, we will stand with Ukraine while the negotiations continue, and the most important thing is that if the fighting stops, our support will continue."
The minister said that the UK is now stepping up its military assistance to Ukraine with a new package of aid, "which includes maritime drones, air defense equipment and artillery."
He also said that the British and Ukrainian defense ministries are currently working together to develop support plans "for the whole of 2025."
