Zelenskyy and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba discuss continued support for Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, Censor.NET reports.
Zelenskyy congratulated Shigeru Ishiba on his election as prime minister and thanked Japan for all the humanitarian and financial assistance provided to Ukraine totaling $12 billion. The President also noted the Japanese government's decision to transfer another $3 billion to Ukraine, secured by frozen Russian assets.
Zelenskyy also welcomed the additional assistance for energy equipment and the construction of shelters approved by the Japanese parliament.
As noted, the Head of State spoke about today's massive shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure by Russia. That is why the protection and restoration of energy is a priority in the face of the aggressor state's attempts to leave Ukrainians without heat and light in winter.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Ishiba condemned the DPRK's involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
"The Prime Minister said that Japan takes this escalation extremely seriously, considers it a major security risk in the Indo-Pacific region and is ready to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor," the President's Office added.
Zelenskyy also thanked Japan for its willingness to work with the democratic world, including the new US administration, to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine as soon as possible.
In addition, the two sides agreed to meet to continue the dialog.
