Zelenskyy talks with Argentine President Milei: they discussed development of economic cooperation and start of intergovernmental consultations
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with his Argentine counterpart Javier Milei.
This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.
Zelenskyy thanked Argentina for the important steps taken to support our country during the first year of Javier Milei's presidency, namely participation in the inaugural Peace Summit and joining the Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, the international Crimean Platform and the Ramstein format.
In a conversation with Milei, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine needs to preserve the Defense Contact Group, as well as joint steps by Argentina, the United States and all allies to weaken Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and end the war with a just and lasting peace.
In addition, the President told his Argentine counterpart about the shelling by Russia on December 20, which damaged foreign embassies, including the Argentine one.
The two leaders also discussed the development of economic cooperation, including the relaunch of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the start of intergovernmental consultations.
Zelenskyy invited the Argentine president to pay a visit to Ukraine.
In turn, Milei assured that Ukraine could continue to count on Argentina's full support.
