Zelenskyy introduces another public holiday

On Friday, December 27, Ukraine introduced another public holiday, the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity, which will be celebrated annually on May 21.

This is stated in the decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy No. 883/2024 of December 27, Censor.NET reports.

"To establish the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity in Ukraine, which shall be celebrated annually on May 21," the text of the decree reads.

The document explains that the Day of Interethnic Harmony is introduced to strengthen the unity and harmony of the Ukrainian people, to strengthen the Ukrainian national and civic identity. It is also intended to promote the free development of cultural diversity of indigenous peoples and national minorities (communities) of Ukraine, to show respect for their contribution to the defense of state sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, and to the armed struggle against the aggressor state.

The Decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
