Fighting for Pokrovsk does not stop, occupiers are trying to surround city - officer of Armed Forces of Ukraine Tsekhotskyi
The fighting for Pokrovsk did not stop on New Year's Eve. Pokrovsk and the surrounding areas remain the hottest spots today.
As Censor.NET informs, Serhii Tsekhotskyi, an officer of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk, said this on the "Espreso" TV channel.
"The fighting continues continuously, and it did not stop even on New Year's Eve. Fighting is taking place on all sectors of the front, but the hottest spots today remain Pokrovsk and the surrounding areas. We are keeping the situation under control and will destroy the enemy as much as necessary. On New Year's Eve, many occupiers were also eliminated in the Pokrovsk direction," Tsekhotsky emphasized.
According to the officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, aware of the increase in losses, the enemy is trying to surround the city of Pokrovsk, reach the Pavlohrad - Pokrovsk highway and force the garrison of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to leave their positions.
"Our task is to prevent this. The route from Pokrovsk to Pavlohrad is under our control, although some enemy drones are still flying," Tsekhotsky added.
He noted that Ukrainian soldiers are in great need of additional means that "could paralyze, neutralize and prevent the enemy from ruling the sky."
Also remind, that near Pokrovsk, stormtroopers of the 425th Separate Assault Battalion of the "Skala" unit carried out an operation, destroying an entire platoon of occupiers. Our soldiers, as a group, eliminated the occupiers who tried to hide in houses.
